Brookville returned to the canoe racing circuit in 2006, and in its first year, Canoefest was Indiana's largest canoe race.

2007 continued this success, nearly doubling in size from 2006 in both racers, festival booth spaces, and attendees. And 2008, combined with the Brookville Bicentennial to have not only the largest canoe race in Indiana, but estimates of over 30,000 people totalled over 2 nights!

In 2009, we shattered our own record with 235 boats, over 3 times larger than any paddling race in Indiana! We also started the wildly popular CHICKEN TRAIL, including 30 local restaurants that all make the local delicacy, FRIED CHICKEN!

2010 WILL BE ANOTHER GREAT YEAR!

Racers agree, that our river is superb for canoeing, our course is fun, challenging, and scenic, and we have the best race for spectators in the Midwest.

Canoefest Idol, American Imposter, The Canoe Princess Contes, and a BIG FIREWORKS SHOW are all back, and this year, The Great Chicken Fry Off will be bigger than ever, as area fryers attempt to break the WORLD RECORD of fried chicken, and bring this record back to the USA! This will be
